It’s Kenya season! So we thought we’d bring you two new spectacular coffees from two amazing producers!

This washed lot from Kibugu Farmers Society is clean, expressive fruity and juicy cup - just as you’d expect from a high quality Kenyan coffee.

In the cup we’re tasting Kiwi, blackcurrant, bubblegum, frozen raspberries and  hints of elderflower.
A very fruity and refreshing cup and this is one of our favourite coffees we’ve had the pleasure of trying and sourcing this year.
THE PROCESS

Cherries are selectively hand-picked and delivered to the factory, where they are carefully sorted and floated to separate denser ripe fruit before pulping.

The coffee is then fully washed, fermented for around 24 hours, washed clean of mucilage, and dried on raised beds. During drying, the parchment is turned regularly and covered during the hottest part of the day and at night to support slow, even drying.

This Embu lot shows the bright, expressive character associated with high-grown washed Kenyan coffees.

FAQ

> WHEN WILL MY COFFEE BE ROASTED?

All our coffees are roasted to order. we roast and ship on the same day or within 48 hours of order.

You’ll find the exact roast date printed on the box.

> HOW IS BEST TO BREW MY COFFEE?

Each and every coffee brews differently and requires certain tweaks to make perfect, but we have our recommended brew guide in the coffee overview section to help you out with a recipe to get you started. If you're struggling, please reach out to us at: hello@carettacoffee.com and we'll be glad to help you out. As we roast light, we recommend going much finer on espresso - but just play around with the brews and enjoy the process.

> HOW LONG SHOULD I REST MY COFFEE?

We recommend resting the coffee for at least 2 weeks from roast date to allow the coffee to degas and open up its true flavour. For our coffees, we roast our coffees light, so to get the best possible flavour experience we recommend 2-3 weeks of resting.
